Position: Key Account Manager

FLSA Status: Full-Time Salaried Exempt

Department: Marketing
Reports To: Key Account Supervisor


Summary of the Position

The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing and building relationships with current and new referral sources. The successful Key Account Manager will expand and maintain these relationships by continuously proposing solutions that meet the needs of the referral sources. The Key Account Manager works with these sources within a defined geographic location of our Inside/Outside sales territories.

Essential Functions

  • Generate quality referrals and sales growth among referral sources.
  • Manage existing “New,” “B,” and “Q” agencies with direction from the Territory Vice President.
  • Focus on active agencies to maximize their potential.
  • Improve the referral quantity and conversion rate to Qualified Lead status by continuous coaching, training and co-marketing with referral sources in defined territory.
  • Market the Companion products’ opportunity to referral sources.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with referral sources.
  • Conduct virtual meetings with referral sources.
  • Provide marketing tools and materials to referral sources in a timely fashion.
  • Stay up to date on all Veterans Home Care products and procedures.
  • Work with Territory Vice Presidents, Business Development Department and all other departments in a collaborative fashion.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities but does exercise independent judgement on a daily basis.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and/or remote office from home. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to drive and maintain a valid driver’s license is required.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time 40 hours per week position. Days and hours of work are flexible as instructed by management.

Travel
Minimal potential travel less than 10%.

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma and some Sales experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Sales experience.
