POSITION SUMMARY:
Prepares various menu/food items as directed for breakfast, and lunch at assigned in our salad station. Adheres to production and sanitation requirements in accordance with Market Basket standard, safety, and sanitation policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.) Reports to work on scheduled days at scheduled time.
2.) Adheres to dress code.
3.) Punches clock in full uniform, NO earlier than 6 minutes before scheduled shift.
4.) Reviews production sheets and daily menu to determine type and quantity of food item to be prepared.
5.) Follows recipes, menu specifications, and directions for preparing food products, including measuring, portioning, and finishing.
6.) Sets-up, cleans, and breaks down of work area.
7.) Uses proper chemical agents for cleaning.
8.) Uses proper sanitizing agents for sanitation.
9.) Checks and controls seasoning and appearance of food.
10.) Decorates and garnishes all prepared food.
11.) Makes necessary food to order (works the line or exposition kitchen).
12.) Properly stores all food product, in designated storage areas, at proper temperature labeled, date, times, and initial for proper rotation
13.) Adheres to safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.
14.) Cleans, maintain tools, equipment, and work station (including floors and coolers).
15.) Cleans, maintains common areas of Deli, front of the house. Properly utilizes leftovers and reworks items to be acceptable for serving.
16.) Reports maintenance deficiencies.
17.) Deep cleans equipment according to schedule.
18.) Performs additional duties, both inter and intradepartmental as assigned by Management.
19.) Informs supervisor of food quantities which maybe short of specified productions amounts, and informs deficiencies in product quality and quantity, or variation in the method of preparation.
20.) Makes arrangement with supervisor when leaving assigned station.
21.) Properly maintains equipment--breakdown, assembly, cleaning, and sanitizing. Uses equipment properly, using the appropriate tool for the task at hand, including knifes, blades, mixer, slicer, grinder, etc.
STATUS & SCOPE:
This position requires knowledge of salad production of catering, or food service operation. Must be able to operate some kitchen equipment and have basic knife skills. Reports directly to the Supervisor/Chef.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 1 year related experience. Be physically able to work eight hours or while on your feet with excellent customer service skills.
LIFTING REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
