Job Description

Position Title: Structural Designer

Location: New Berlin, WI

Reports To:  Manger of CTO Crane and Runway Engineering, Region AME

 

Position Overview: The Crane Draftsman will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for crane runway systems according to specifications provided by engineers and project managers. This role requires a keen eye for detail, proficiency in drafting software, and a solid understanding of crane design principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed technical drawings and plans for crane and runways systems using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and translate them into precise drawings.
  • Revise drawings based on feedback from engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all drawings, including those for crane runways, comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
  • Maintain and organize drawing files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference.
  • Assist in designing new crane runway models or modifying existing designs for improved performance and safety.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide input and updates on drawing status.
  • Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations related to crane design and runways.
  • Experience using 3D modeling software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

  • Office-based
  • Interaction with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of crane design principles, runway systems, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and convert them into precise drawings.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with crane design or structural design is a plus.
