The Team:
Kraken is looking for a Financial Analyst to join the FP&A Team in a high visibility role. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in crypto/blockchain technology and deep expertise in finance discipline with strong modeling experience to analyze and inform institutional product lines as well as balance sheet-based activities.
The Opportunity:
Build out financial models for both existing business lines as well as new initiatives from bottom up.
Manage and improve existing product financial models, actuals reporting, business line forecasts, and ad hoc financial analysis including the development of regular monthly forecasts, long-range planning models, scenario-based models, and KPIs.
Work closely with Institutional business partners informing not only the model output but help to inform full business case to senior management and executive leadership.
Work with Treasury to track, manage, and forecast profitability, program uses and balance sheet line items.
Evaluate financial and operational results to better drive company performance and identify opportunities in both revenue growth and expense management.
Build relationships across the organization and become a trusted partner to our functional leaders and partners.
Provide analyses and recommendations on financial and operational metrics to executive management to support decision-making.
Skills you should HODL:
2 years of progressive experience and demonstrated growth in prior FP&A or Strategic Finance positions, from both large, public companies and smaller, high-growth companies.
A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field.
Prior experience engaging directly with product and business leads with full model ownership including the build out of full P&L as well as driving end to end business case development (timelines, cost structure, expected benefit, risks).
Outstanding communicator with excellent analytical skills with strong ability to synthesize complex work streams into clear and actionable recommendations.
Practical knowledge of analyzing and forecasting Institutional Sales (pipeline, productivity etc) and/or Balance Sheet-based activities (capital allocation for program usage, profitability/liquidity analysis and WACC calculation etc).
Key understanding of GAAP accounting principles and highly proficient with G-Suite/Sheets.
Hands-on experience in SQL and database querying.
Expertise in FP&A best practices, including early adoption of the latest tools and technologies.
Excellent financial modeler with clear ability to incorporate drivers, KPIs, executive summary pages, and dynamic color-coded inputs.
Ability to operate within ambiguous conditions and build out new processes with effective models and presentations to support decision making.
Nice to have:
Previous FP&A experience in a FinTech firm.
