Our team is not just a part of the organization; we are the central nerve of data-driven decision making, working in lockstep with Product, Marketing, Finance, and executive leadership to enhance business strategies and personalize user experiences.

At Kraken, data isn't just numbers; it's the compass that guides our entire operation. Your role will be crucial in unraveling complex user behaviors and navigating the intricate dynamics of the cryptocurrency ecosystem. You'll spearhead the development and refinement of pivotal north-star business metrics and elevate our reporting capabilities to new heights. Beyond traditional analytics, you will provide clean data sets to end users modeling data in a way that empowers end users to answer their own questions.

The opportunity

• Your data expertise will inform our product development, impacting how we build the next generation of products

• Dive into large, complex datasets/logs to turn your findings into scalable data models necessary to facilitate reporting, analytics and ML models

• Collaborate with analyst, scientist, product and engineering to spearhead projects that build key datasets and data pipelines using Airflow/Python/ETL frameworks

• Develop and automate reporting of key performance indicators of various Kraken’s products at scale

• Incorporate software engineering best practices into code for data pipelines and dashboards to improve workflow and results

• Advocate for the power of data analytics in enhancing our products and guiding our journey in the crypto world
  

Skills you should HODL 

• Crypto Curious: You have a solid understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem and financial markets

• Experienced Analytics/data engineer: With at least 5 years in the analytics engineering/warehousing field, you're a pro with SQL, scripting languages (Python), data modeling and pipelining

• Data tools: Experience with AWS, Airflow, Tableau, Superset and interacting with APIs.

• Statistically Minded: You have a firm grasp of statistical concepts

• Technologically Versatile: Experienced with data warehouse development and best practices, you're also eager to learn new technologies

• Clear Communicator: You can simplify complex data insights for anyone to understand, whether they're tech-savvy or not

• Additional Knowledge: Familiarity with ML modeling and deployment is advantageous
