The Team

Come aboard the Kraken Internal Audit team!  Internal Audit plays a crucial role within the organization by serving as trusted advisors for senior management, performing critical regulatory related audits, and helping solve complex problems across the business.  Our mission is to be a valued partner across the organization including within the IT, Compliance, Finance, and Product teams.  We aim to help others improve their processes, meet compliance requirements, and address critical risks with the ultimate goal of helping the company be the most trusted and secure crypto exchange in the world!

The Kraken Internal Audit team prides itself on embracing new challenges, being able to successfully perform audits in an evolving industry, and being able to build strong relationships across the organization.  We strive to be a team others reach out to for assistance.  We also believe in the mission of crypto and what it means for the world. 

The Senior IT Auditor is responsible for timely testing and execution of technology-related internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan, as well as assisting on integrated audits. You have the ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to changing priorities while working under supervision and can discuss technical issues in general business terms. You will be providing updates to internal management and relevant stakeholders on current audit statuses as well as follow up reviews.

The Opportunity

• Must have knowledge of infrastructure environments (e.g., operating systems, databases, networks, middleware, virtualization technologies, etc.) and cloud services/technologies (e.g., Amazon Web Services)

• Independently evaluate IT general controls over security processes, infrastructure, network, applications/software, cloud services, and databases according to established timelines

• Knowledgeable on current IT trends and regulatory ‘hot-topics’ as they relate to the IT environment

• Develop clear and concise working papers including scope, objectives, procedures performed and findings/deficiencies

• Familiarity with SOC2, PCI, ITGC, SOX and other security controls and frameworks preferred

• Evaluate manual and automated processes; identify process weaknesses

• Develop strong working relationships and work collaboratively throughout the organization

• Regularly track and communicate status of work-in-progress to Internal Audit management and team

• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in determining compliance with policies and procedures

• Document and create flowcharts of processes and internal controls in place including reviewing suitability of design and potential risk factors

Skills you should HODL

• A BA or BS Degree or equivalent in Information Systems or other similar field

• 4 years internal/external audit experience with financial services, fintech or technology desired

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment utilizing analytical and problem solving skills

• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, organized, and ability to work within time constraints

• Ability to influence and communicate effectively across the organization

• Strong time management skills, self-motivated, and disciplined working remote
