Fluidra’s looking for a Lab Engineer to join our team at our West Coast office in Carlsbad, CA.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
While working and participating within a team environment, the Lab Engineer is primarily responsible for assisting the design engineers with their research and development of water chlorination systems, automatic pool cleaners, pressure and filtration pumps, gas heaters, filters, valves, and controls. They will be required to analyze data generated from experiments and report results of those experiments. Organization culture demands employees to be results driven. This position reports to the Lab Manager. Responsibilities include the following:

Set up and conduct various R&D and design validation tests during product development. 50%

Document test results, analyze data generated from tests, and report findings to the project team. 20%

Help develop test methods and test plans to ensure product qualification requirements and compliance standards are met. 15%

Build and/or modify product prototypes. 10%

Maintain the engineering labs including parts inventory, data acquisition equipment, and various lab grade instruments and their calibration. 5%
WHAT WE SEEK
-
Experience using a variety of lab test and analysis equipment including, but not limited to, voltage, power, flow and temperature-measuring equipment.

Comfortable with basic machine shop tools.

Must be comfortable performing basic hands-on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing tasks.

Exceptional observation, communication and troubleshooting skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Windows environments.

Read, write and communicate fluently and clearly in English.

Strong shop-math skills, with an emphasis in algebra, required to perform the necessary calculations to perform engineering tests and conduct mechanical inspection of various components (sheet metal, plastic, electrical etc.)

General knowledge of the basic theories, practices and procedures of fluid mechanics.

Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline

Expected salary range is $70,000 - $85,000. Fluidra offers a comprehensive total rewards / benefits program that includes base salary, annual bonus based on performance of individual and company objectives, competitive 401K matching, paid vacation and sick time, full range of health benefits, educational assistance, etc. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
