*Note: This position requires presence in our San Francisco office location 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.
What You’ll Do:
Design, implement, and deliver storage offerings for our GPU cloud
Operate, monitor, and optimize our current storage offerings
Troubleshoot and fix storage issues
Evaluate and work with storage vendors to offer solutions
Work closely with other engineering departments to deliver storage solutions via APIs
Occasional travel to Lambda Datacenters to assist with new installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of storage arrays.
You Have:
8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale multi-petabyte storage production environments
A strong understanding of diverse storage solutions and their ecosystems:
File, Block, and Object storage systems
Storage Protocols such as NFS, iSCSI, NVMe-oF/TCP
InfiniBand, GPUDirect Storage, NFSoRDMS, parallel file systems, NVMVe
Encryption, storage security, and multi-tenancy strategies
Backup and data protections
5+ years of experience in Python or GoLang
5+ years of experience in Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible).
Nice to Have
Experience with Kubernetes, including CSI and CNI’s
Strong understanding of public cloud features (e.g., SDN, block storage, distributed file systems, identity management)
Experience deploying, operating, and maintaining Ceph
Have implemented either open-source or commercial monitoring solutions of storage and storage-adjacent solutions
Salary Range Information
Based on market data and other factors, the annual salary range for this position is $170,000 - $245,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
