Assistant Controller

Lasko Products, an industry leader of home environment products for over 100 years, is seeking an Assistant Controller for our West Chester, PA headquarters.The Assistant Controller will oversee and manage the general accounting functions and be supported by two to four direct reports. This position will report to the Corporate Controller.Primary Responsibilities• Accounting:• Manage the Monthly Close Process• Own all accounting subjects other than Cost Accounting and Accounts Receivable• Responsible for G/L including maintenance and improvement plans• Lead in becoming subject matter expert of QAD ERP system, including developing process improvement plans• Audit management:• Key driver/leader of the annual audit and bi-annual banking audits• Strong diligence and project management skills are key for this• Staff oversight:• Manage team of Sr Accountants, Staff Accountants, and Accounts Payable• Actively manage performance, monitor goals, train and build relationships through team meetings, lunches, events• Balance firmness/fairness/reasonableness while developing high performing accounting team• Drive continuous improvement:• Process and procedure documentation• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects• Drive deadlines and develop key tools to manage all processes• Continuous improvement in the application of the QAD ERP system to financial processesQualifications• Bachelor's degree in Accounting• 10-12 years of experience working in corporate accounting, with increasing levels of responsibility• Able to handle challenges of juggling multiple projects including routine and non-routine projects• Enjoy partnering with staff in other departments to ensure accounting is correct• Strong communication skills to present concise summary info• Must be proactive, self-starter and will see things through to completionPreferred qualifications• CPA or working towards• QAD ERP experience• Avalera sales tax software experienceAbout the CompanyLasko Metal Products was founded in 1906 by Henry Lasko in Philadelphia.
