Bridge Project Engineer

Duties

Structural analysis and design calculations for bridges, retaining walls, bridge repairs, and ancillary structures.
Preparing structural plans in accordance with VDOT.
Be responsible for documenting and reporting bridge conditions for routine or special bridge inspection assignments in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS).
Write reports and analyze load ratings of bridges and culverts working with VDOT’s, counties and/or municipalities to assess bridge infrastructure.
Develops concept plans and design criteria, typical section(s), and cost estimate such as the long range estimates.

Requirements

5+ years of experience designing highway bridges and transportation structures is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Experience using design software such as MathCAD, MicroStation, or other drafting software.
Passed Virginia FE exam or has Virginia PE License.
