The General Ledger Accountant will have a pivotal role in maintaining and controlling the general ledger accounts and business transactions of the company, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.
Day to Day...
• Process journal entries and perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts
• Maintain fixed asset records and related depreciation schedules
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
• Handle monthly reconciliations of bank accounts
• Manage processing of accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely payments and collections
• Assist with the annual audit process
• Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with tax return preparation
• Collaborate with the HR department to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
• Recommend improvements to ensure the integrity of the company's financial information
• Stay updated with industry trends, accounting best practices, and regulatory changes
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• At least 1 year of professional accounting experience with general ledgers and reconciliations
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting procedures
• Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
