Production Planner / Scheduler

Salary: $80,000 - 90,000/year

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Materials Planner Scheduler to join our team. The Materials Planner Scheduler will play a crucial role in coordinating material planning and scheduling activities to support our manufacturing operations.


Responsibilities
  • Material Planning:
  • Develop and maintain material planning processes to ensure adequate inventory levels for production.
  • Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory data to determine material requirements.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to optimize material flow and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Production Scheduling:
  • Create and manage production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and lead times.
  • Coordinate with production managers and supervisors to prioritize production orders and allocate resources effectively.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize carrying costs, reduce lead times, and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation to ensure inventory levels are accurate and up to date.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and excess inventory issues.
  • Supplier Coordination:
  • Work closely with suppliers to track material deliveries, resolve delivery issues, and ensure timely replenishment of materials.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and monitor supplier performance.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains within the materials planning and scheduling function.
  • Implement best practices, tools, and technologies to streamline material planning and scheduling processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and initiatives to drive continuous improvement and enhance overall supply chain performance.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience (1+ years) in materials planning, production scheduling, or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
