Social Worker (Students/Schools Experience)

Position Summary:


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to support the well-being and development of students in a middle school or high school setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescents, addressing their social, emotional, and academic needs. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills to foster a supportive and inclusive school environment. MD license is required.


Responsibilities:
  • Student Support and Counseling:
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students facing social, emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to meet students’ specific needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and external professionals to create supportive strategies for students.
  • Crisis Intervention:
  • Respond to crises affecting students, such as family emergencies, mental health concerns, or substance abuse issues.
  • Provide immediate support and coordinate with appropriate resources for resolution and follow-up care.
  • Conduct risk assessments and work with school administrators to ensure student safety.
  • Advocacy and Collaboration:
  • Serve as a liaison between students, families, and school staff to ensure consistent communication and support.
  • Advocate for students' rights and access to resources, both within the school and in the community.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and 504 Plan meetings to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Program Development and Education:
  • Design and deliver workshops, presentations, or programs to address topics such as mental health, conflict resolution, and social skills.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of issues affecting adolescent development and well-being.
  • Partner with community organizations to expand resources available to students and families.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, state regulations, and professional standards of practice.
  • Prepare reports and updates for school leadership as needed.
