The Office of Business Services manages contracts providing services to students, faculty, and staff across the University including the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, Seminole Dining, FSU Bookstore, Postal Services, Laundry, Warehouse Services, FSU Card Services, Student Mail, Vending, and Golf Course & Club.

Responsibilities


Performs daily technical support for the Office of Business Services laundry program.

  • Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical and operational issues for the laundry equipment on campus. Performs installations, preventative maintenance, and inspections, and makes recommendations on the purchases of appropriate materials, equipment, and supplies to ensure peak performance of the Campus Laundry Services Program and other new service offerings as developed and assigned. This position should have the ability to lift and move objects weighing more than fifty pounds.
  • Maintains accurate documentation for laundry equipment inventory, parts inventory, equipment cycle counts, and detailed service records. In consultation with the supervisor initiates work orders and requests for parts and materials as needed. Responsible for keeping all laundry equipment technical certifications current and up to date.
  • Provides first responder support for all service and supply requests for the Departmental Copier and Student Printing Programs. Ensures the Departmental Copier and Student Printing Programs with the delivery and installation of consumable items such as toner and paper. Maintains an on-call schedule for coverage of the Departmental Copier, Student Printing, and Laundry Services Program from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday thru Friday, and from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM Saturday and Sunday, as well as an on-call holiday schedule.
  • Acts as a customer relations ambassador for the university. Performs additional duties as assigned in support of the Office of Business Services. Responsible for assisting other divisions within OBS such as FSUCard Program, Seminole Legacy Golf Club, Dining, Centralized Copy Program, Special Projects, and other duties as assigned, to ensure the delivery of OBS services are provided to the FSU Community.

Qualifications


High school diploma/equivalent and one of year work experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to one year.)

  • Experience performing assigned responsibilities with minimal or moderate supervision.
  • Experience working in a customer service setting and the ability to demonstrate customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of equipment and machinery used in the direct work area.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of this position including moving/lifting up to 50lbs or more, bending, kneeling, lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Experience using applicable computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, and knowledge of basic computer functions.
  • Experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Valid Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
  • Ability to be on-call for day-to-day emergencies both after hours and on weekends as needed.
  • Ability to complete Alliance Laundry Systems Certification within 12 months of the hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical and operational issues with Speed Queen washers and dryers.
  • Experience using a multimeter and reading schematics.
