Law Library Aide

Position Title: Law Library Aide

Department Name: School of Law


Position Reports To:
Associate Director Law Library


FLSA STATUS
: Hourly, Non-Exempt


Hourly Rate:
$18.07


Benefits:
Limited University's benefits


Days & Hours:
Variable weekly schedule to be established by supervisor. Flexible schedule may require evening and weekend hours during peak periods.


BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF JOB:


To perform circulation duties at the Law Library. Evening and weekend hours will be required.This position reports to the Assistant Director of the Law Library.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Check in/Check out library materials.
  • Provide basic directional service.
  • Assist patrons in finding items.
  • Enforcing library access policies.
  • Shelving.
  • Shelf reading.
  • Answer telephone.
  • Assist in updating patron records.
  • Collect fines.
  • File looseleaf services, repair torn pages and record missing pages, and missing books.
  • Various duties, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must be a student currently enrolled in GGU's School of Law.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to interact with library staff and patrons in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Good phone skills.
  • Library experience.
  • Public service experience.
  • Some computer knowledge.
  • Strong command of the English language essential.
