LCL340 Mechanic/Operator

Center Point Energy is looking for a Mechanic/Operator to join our Team, located in Coon Rapid Minnesota.

You will have the ability to: Installs, protects, and maintains gas services and mains. Operates and maintains several types of construction equipment to accomplish installation, maintenance and protection of the gas distribution system.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Performs various tasks associated with installation of gas mains and services to prepare and restore the construction site including maintenance, replacement, corrosion control and leak detection on mains and services in compliance with company standards and procedures, to safely and efficiently deliver natural gas to customers.

• Operate construction equipment used in the repair, replacement, and installation of gas mains and services, including the preparation and restoration of the construction site for completion of assigned projects.

• Performs routine operator maintenance on construction equipment to assure safe and efficient performance and minimal downtime.

• Drives crew truck and other trucks, some with trailer attached, to transport construction equipment and necessary crew materials to job locations.

• Assist with other related tasks as apparent or assigned including meter hanging and customer piping tie-in when appropriate to ensure efficient operation of the crew.

Your background includes:

• Requires successful completion of a certification program at an accredited educational institution in natural/propane gas distribution, installation and repair, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent technical skills.

• Requires one year’s experience in the installation and or repair of gas services and mains
