Lead Financial Analyst

Salary: $60 - 75 per hour

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Financial Analyst to join our client’s dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. As a Lead Financial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial insights and supporting decision-making processes across our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Actively participate in budgeting and forecasting activities, collaborating with key stakeholders from various Energy businesses to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Financial Reporting: Consolidate budgeting, forecasting, and quarterly financial reporting (QFR) materials from across the Energy businesses. Prepare insightful reports that effectively communicate financial performance to the leadership team.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of budget and forecast variances, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities. Effectively communicate findings to the leadership team to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Cost Analysis: Perform comprehensive cost analysis, particularly related to capital projects, providing valuable insights to facilitate effective resource allocation and project management.
  • QFR Package Preparation: Take charge of preparing high-quality QFR packages for distribution to corporate and senior leadership, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and relevance of financial information.
  • Decision Support: Utilize your analytical skills to extract and analyze data, providing meaningful decision support to leadership. Be prepared to perform ad hoc reporting as required to address specific business inquiries.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives that promote standardization, efficiency, and waste elimination within financial analysis and reporting functions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting within the Energy industry.
  • Proven expertise in consolidating and presenting financial data, with excellent report preparation skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with the capacity to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in financial analysis tools, Microsoft Excel, and other data management software.
