Recruitment and Selection Associate

The American Connection Corps (ACC) is a fast-growing national service program that’s closing the digital divide and cultivating a new generation of locally-rooted leaders in digitally disconnected communities across America.  Throughout their year of service, ACC Members lead shoulder-to-shoulder with their neighbors to realize the worth of every person, place, and possibility.

The Recruitment & Selection Associate's responsibilities will include spearheading regional recruitment initiatives, fostering partnerships, and driving lead generation within designated territories. The Associate will be responsible for managing prospective American Connection Corps applicants through each stage of the application funnel: candidate sourcing, 1:1 engagement and interviews, ongoing communications, and other direct outreach to applicants. Our goal is to recruit and place 180+ ACC AmeriCorps Members in communities nationwide by Fall 2025.

  • Gain a comprehensive knowledge of the local landscapes and devise a strategic plan for regional recruitment with guidance from the Director of Recruitment.
  • Build and cultivate a diverse pipeline of local talent for high-priority regions through recruitment activities, university engagement, network referrals, sourcing platforms, & webinars.
  • Attract and assist a high volume of candidates as they navigate the application process for the ACC program.
  • Mobilize ACC Members and Alumni to leverage their networks to increase brand awareness and support recruiters to identify referrals and connections to increase exposure to the program.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, platforms, and workflows in systems such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Handshake, Asana, and Workable.
  • Ensure data integrity for recruitment activities and leads including entering and updating information to have accurate data through our various platforms & applicant tracking systems.
  • Conduct frequent informational interviews, initial screening calls, and candidate assessments in alignment with our organizational values and federal AmeriCorps requirements.
  • Maintain communication with ACC applicants throughout the recruitment process regarding their selection and placement status; advocate for candidates throughout the selection process.
  • Support the development & refinement of a holistic but scalable application process that equitably screens each candidate according to their individual goals and experiences.
  • Extend offers and provide onboarding support for all confirmed candidates in assigned regions.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of ACC’s growth and expansion.

Qualifications

Education

A minimum of an associate’s degree is required, though a bachelor’s degree is preferred. 

Experience

Experience in high-volume recruitment and/or talent acquisition is required.  Work experience in nonprofit organizations, higher education institutions, or AmeriCorps/other fellowship programs is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions 

This position requires:

  • Normal periods of sitting, standing, and walking, typically in a remote office environment.
  • Type/enter data on the keyboard.
  • Normal vision and hearing (with or without correction).
  • Speaking one-on-one and in a group setting.

Must be able to attend and participate in outdoor events in various weather conditions, and attend 3-4 events for ACC training and LFA staff gatherings, and additional travel (5-6 events) as necessary. Level of noise is usually moderately quiet. 

Below is the anticipated minimum and maximum salaries we can provide at this time. Starting salary is dependent on role and experience level. Based on these factors, the below salary range is subject to vary considerably. Note that salaries are expected to rise over time with increased experience, inflation, and the growth of the organization, and that for most roles there is ample opportunity for promotion. In special circumstances, LFA is willing to discuss paying above the maximum range listed below. 

Salary Range: $50k-65k

This position includes access to health insurance, vision and dental insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, unlimited PTO, 12 weeks of parental leave (including the first 4 weeks paid), a work laptop, and a $750 annual professional development allowance.
