Who We Are


Greetings, friend. Here at Second Dinner, we make award-winning MEGA hits. Oof, maybe that’s not humble enough. But we did win a bunch of awards! We have to say, it feels good. And we want YOU to help us build our next gaming blockbuster. Let’s make a stamp on the industry together!


We’re a diverse studio and we believe varied perspectives will help us make this new game super broadly appealing. If you can bring something new to the table and expand our point of view, that's a huge upside. We’re fully remote, too, so uhhh there is nothing stopping you from applying. 

This Specific Team (It’s a New Game!)


We are at the very beginning of our journey into a brand new game! The game is already real real real fun (almost too fun, the fun-ologists are worried we may lose control and the fun will get loose and destroy us). This team that you will join - it’s a couple folks right now. Come be the third or fourth folk and be a cornerstone of this project!


What You Gonna Do?


We all know that making something super fun isn't enough. It needs to be paired with satisfying core progression loops and monetization to be successful and sustainable, and that can be even more difficult than designing fun core gameplay. We want to make sure we're NAILING that from the outset of this game. And that's where you come in!


We are hiring this senior to principal level position NOW because we know how critical these features are to a successful game and we know it takes time and iteration to make something that millions and millions of players will LOVE. Let’s hang out and build something rad that we can all be proud of.

  • Figure out how the heck our meta progression loop will work
  • Prototype that stuff you just designed somehow
  • Do you know C# and Unity? Dang that’s rad. But whatever if not that’s cool don’t let it stop you from applying
  • Figure out what players will spend money on
  • You know how when your favorite band comes out with a new album you are like “yoooo take my money”? Let’s make spending money in our game feel like that
  • Create economic models and frameworks that help guide our decision making
  • What will liveops look like for this game? That’s something you’ll have to figure out!
  • Help us learn absurdly fast by building out data and experimentation systems
  • Research other games so you know what’s new and hawt


Describe Your Perfect Candidate? Don’t Mind If I Do:


  • You have deep experience and passion for building and operating sweet video games
  • You have extensive experience turning games into great businesses with awesome liveops, monetization design, analytics, testing, and progression systems
  • You super love mobile and free2play games and have experience working on them
  • You love working with ridiculously talented people and making great stuff that is equal parts art + science
  • You will apply for this job


Nice to Have, But Not Necessary (So Don’t Let It Stop You):


  • Technical knowledge or ability to code in Unity / C# / SQL
  • Experience working on a tiny team

The total compensation for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $160,000 - $220,000 USD + equity + comprehensive benefits + potential for discretionary performance bonuses.


Individual pay within this salary range may span multiple levels within the discipline and is determined by assessed job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training. It also factors in market demands and business needs. The disclosed range is not adjusted based on location and may be subject to change or modification based on business needs in the future. Your recruiter can answer any questions about new hire total compensation during the hiring process.
