About the Role
Harman X is seeking a talented and motivated Lead Test Engineer. HARMAN X is the corporate research division that focuses on advanced technology development for applications across all Harman product lines including Automotive, Lifestyle (consumer), and Professional.
As the Lead Test Engineer you will be part of the Data Collection team, who work with test subjects (data participants) to collect real-time data in lab simulators and in vehicles which involves acquiring images, videos, ECG, EEG and other biosignals to support the Machine Learning for our driver monitoring system. You will lead all aspects of software application and system testing for data collection cars and car simulators.
Your Team
This position has no direct reports.
What You Will Do
Ensure that the software applications meet all declared specifications.
Responsible for quality assurance in the user interface, middleware, and backend.
Creates standardized QA frameworks for testing new versions of specific applications prior to release.
Test complex software/hardware systems, including limited administration of Linux, and limited understanding of how hardware works.
Test design and verification of SW and HW components of the data collection platform for next generation driver monitoring systems.
Test the software of the data collection stand, which includes several desktops (Windows, Linux) and many sensors connected via various interfaces (Bluetooth, WiFi, ETHERNET, USB, etc.)
What You Need
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science and/or SW Engineering.
5+ years of relevant experience
Excellent knowledge of manual testing of complex multi-component systems
Deep understanding of QA
Excellent knowledge in testing skills (design test plan and test strategy, writing test cases, executing test cases, opening bugs, verifying bugs).
Administration of Windows and Linux
Critical thinking and problem-solving and time management skills
Experience with various sensors (temperature, biosignals) with various interfaces (USB, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth etc.)
Ability to interpret and articulate analytical results
Ability to work in a global matrixed organization and communicate technically at all levels
Ability to work independently and solve problems with little to limited guidance from manager and peers
Ability to troubleshoot novel problems
Ability to train and influence all members of the Data Collection team
What is Nice to Have
Experience of working with hardware setups is a big plus
Knowledge of Python, Bash
Experience in test automation frameworks
Experience with CI tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira
What Makes You Eligible
