Learning and Development Manager, Americas

Position Summary
The Learning & Development Manager will focus on strategic project leadership, program management and large-scale rollout of key learning initiatives across the region. The role also collaborates with leaders, subject matter experts, and team members across all levels at the Firm to build and implement interactive solutions through a variety of delivery methods.
The Manager will have the opportunity to partner with stakeholders and targeted teams to understand needs and implement the learning for those groups. This role works closely with business leaders and extended Learning and Development team members to lead, deploy and deliver the learning solutions. The role also serves as a content expert in certain areas where targeted delivery and dynamic facilitation are required. These learning solutions support the development of Spencer Stuart employees and spans across a wide range of skill areas ranging from system and process training to behavioural skills and professional development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as a key member on the Learning and Development team focused on regional business partnership and delivery. Collaborate to assess needs, develop learning plans, and lead complex, large-scale rollouts.
  • Lead and manage the design strategy, development, and implementation of large-scale learning initiatives and programs.
  • Develop communication plans and customize messages for stakeholders. Ensure consistent and targeted communication with business leaders and training participants.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and manage stakeholder communications to ensure successful creation and execution of learning and development solutions.
  • Collaborate with the extended learning team to prioritize learning and development initiatives based on business needs.
  • Lead specific external vendor relationships and partner with content experts both inside and outside of the firm to create customized learning solutions.
  • Lead and facilitate interactive learning sessions across a variety of skill areas. This includes classroom and remote training, small groups, large groups.
  • Evaluate the success of learning programs using various types of formal and informal techniques. Continually assess the longer-term effectiveness of programs and processes. Develop improvement plans where needed.
The Manager, Learning and Development is a collaborative, results-oriented individual with a demonstrated ability to build stakeholder relationships, lead complex projects, manage details, assess needs, and ensure quality delivery. They are experienced in building, leading, and facilitating learning initiatives for a variety of audiences across a wide range of skill areas. The Manager has strong interpersonal skills in partnering across a team to create and delivery successful business outcomes.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
University Graduate
A bachelor’s degree is required.
A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a professional setting
Preferably with 5-6 years of experience, either as an in-house learning and development professional or consultant.
Language
Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional language skills will be an advantage.

  • Lead complex projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders. Apply project management best practices to achieve results and impact
  • Collaborate effectively with internal team members and stakeholders
  • Deliver solutions on time and with appropriate quality
  • Serve as primary program manager for selected ongoing regional programs
  • Lead evaluation and feedback for selected programs to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements
Learning and Development Expertise
Experience partnering with the business to design, develop, and implement effective learning solutions.
  • Partner with the extended Learning and Development Team and business stakeholders to design and develop a wide variety of learning solutions using multiple delivery methods
  • Champion and apply learning principles and best-in-class practices for learning and development
  • Knowledge of best-in-class practices of learning and development, including experience in developing or customizing learning solutions across a variety of learning and development topics
  • Continue to build subject matter expertise in new or increasingly complex topics by regularly devoting time to learning, and then using that knowledge to improve and innovate
