The Team You’ll Work With

As the Learning and Development Specialist, you will work directly with our talented People Team to research, design, develop, and conduct effective learning experiences including onboarding, skills training, and compliance training for our teammates. You will have a unique opportunity to identify areas for improvement and build the learning plans and content necessary to realize those programs that promote ongoing skill development to meet the evolving needs of Fireclay. This role reports to the Learning and Development Manager and is located on-site in Aromas, CA. This role reports to the Learning and Development Manager and is located on-site in Aromas, CA. As a Learning & Development Specialist you’ll have a unique opportunity to support our Learning and Development function with design, delivery, and assessment of learning throughout the organization. In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Own early career acclimation to ensure engagement and positive integration
  • Provide logistical support to L&D initiatives, including material development, communications, scheduling, etc.
  • Inspire commitment to learning and development through communicating vision, engaging people in continuous learning initiatives, and encouraging a culture of continuous feedback
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement of training and knowledge-based content.
  • Work with SMEs to translate business information and concepts into dynamic, impactful training and eLearning content utilizing a variety of media.
  • Develop training curriculum and maintain agency training matrices; monitor and ensure training requirements are met, tracked, and documented
  • Design, create, and maintain facilitation guides and course material
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback
  • Develop communication regarding training events and resources
  • Plan, organize, and set up for development and training events
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of learning and development programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback
  • Be a champion and ambassador of Fireclay’s learning and development programs

About You

You have a passion for learning, always curious and inspire others to reach their greatest potential. u.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development or related discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant experience related to adult learning theory and, instructional design
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
  • A self-starter who is analytical, result-oriented, resourceful, innovative, who takes initiative and calculated risks
  • Ability to multi-task and apply time management skills while working in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and communicate effectively with clients and all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • You are comfortable collecting and analyzing data to understand current state, tell a meaningful story about findings, and inform your future direction and decision-making
  • You are equally comfortable presenting to a large group, working collaboratively with groups, and working independently
