Hartizen Homes is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Purchasing Agent for our Orlando, FL new homes division.

As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a key role in supporting our purchasing and construction departments. You’ll be responsible for managing vendor relationships, creating accurate estimates, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This position is ideal for someone with strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and a passion for residential construction. Primary responsibilities would include:


Primary Responsibilities
  • Review new home sales contracts and create accurate construction estimates.
  • Maintain construction budgets and ensure compliance with financial guidelines.
  • Onboard and manage trade partners, ensuring contracts are accurate and competitively priced.
  • Prepare and submit bid packages to current and prospective vendors.
  • Conduct material take-offs for lumber, trim, roofing, siding, and other project components.
  • Maintain and update BuildPro with accurate project details, costs, and schedules.
  • Track blueprints, scopes of work, and design or structural changes; coordinate updates with the construction team.
  • Review and price lot-specific changes in collaboration with construction, trades, and sales teams.
  • Process variance purchase orders and manage updates to reflect project changes.
  • Perform market research to ensure competitive pricing and track material trends.


Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, or one to two years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience recruiting, negotiating with, and interpreting/enforcing scopes of work for a large trade base.
  • Proven experience working with a builder, with a strong understanding of the construction process.
  • Construction estimating and purchase order (P.O.) driven software knowledge (experience with BuildPro or similar software highly beneficial).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and manipulate data effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities or projects.
