Tradeweb is seeking an experienced Legal Contract Negotiator to support and partner with Tradeweb’s legal team in reviewing, negotiating, drafting and managing a broad range of vendor agreements, such as licensing, event, technology and professional services agreements.
As a Legal Contract Negotiator, you will partner closely with a variety of internal stakeholders across the organization, including global teams within Technology, Cybersecurity, Marketing, Market Data and HR, to help, develop, execute and support Tradeweb’s vendor workflows. The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, pays close attention to detail, is adept at prioritizing and managing competing interests, has excellent communication skills and is able to operate autonomously while being a team player while working with the legal team and internal business partners.
Job Responsibilities
- Vendor-facing contract review, redlining, drafting (with attorney support) and negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, event contracts, data licenses and other related agreements.
- Communicate with internal stakeholder questions about contracts that are in progress and executed contracts, and advise on contract process, status updates, and internal policies.
- Assist with the development and improvement of existing processes, including updating or creating standard form templates, contract playbooks and guidelines, escalation processes, procurement training and tools, and FAQs.
- Manage initial negotiation escalations and track initial deal concessions.
- Develop expertise in the contract lifecycle management system used to track requests, obtain required approvals, and store contracts/amendments.
- Assist in maintaining our vendor contract repository, including managing the contracting process (both within a contract management application and offline), reporting on key terms, developing and iterating on form documentation, and managing contract data.
- Participate in special projects to identify, develop, implement, and enhance processes and policies that improve the organization’s efficiency and standardization.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in an in-house legal department
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- J.D. is a plus
- Strong experience with reviewing, analyzing, drafting, communicating, and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and security issues as they relate to commercial contracts
- Experience reviewing data privacy and security agreements is a plus
- Passionate about building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal business partners and stakeholders across internal teams.
- Experience simplifying legal terms for internal stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the skill to effectively counsel internal business partners by providing clear and concise advice and creative solutions to meet business needs.

- The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $90,000 to $200,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
