Legal Operations and Contract Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for a Legal Operations and Contract Specialist to support our lean, but dynamic legal team. You will have wide-ranging responsibilities, with ownership of projects that make an immediate impact. Under the guidance of an attorney, your work will touch every aspect of running our global retail brand. The person in this role will beextremely organized and proactive, with a desire to learn and grow. This person will also be customer-focused, collaborate well with team members and cross-functional business partners, and have experience working directly with outside counsel. You will be based out of Ariat International’s headquarters in San Leandro or our satellite office in Ft Worth and will report to the Senior Director, Legal.

You’ll Make a Difference By

• Serving as Ariat’s contract administrator of our CLM (Agiloft), managing and monitoring contract life cycles from beginning to end, reporting and archiving consistent with internal processes.
• Supporting the legal team to maintain and organize our patent, trademark, and copyright portfolio, implement new IP-related processes, meet with internal stakeholders to assist with renewals and assist with gathering necessary information to aggressively defend our brand.
• Supporting the legal team to maintain and organize our real estate portfolio; work cross functionally with our retail team as needed.
• Supporting the ongoing development of contract templates, playbooks, and self-help team member resources to triage and process high-volume agreements.
• Supporting the Senior Director of Legal with administrative matters related to running legal operations, taking lead on evaluating any new technologies that can improve legal processes and departmental efficiency
• Managing special projects and tasks as assigned and in collaboration with other team members. Possible topics may include researching FTC guidance, assisting with litigation management, and participating in brand protection efforts, as necessary.

About You

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant contracts or legal operations experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Prior in-house experience is preferred.
• Experience with a global retail, footwear and apparel brand strongly preferred; Commissioned Notary Public a huge plus.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and can work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and teams on multiple projects at once.
• Effective oral and written communicator who practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner.
• Strong attention to detail—you sweat the small stuff and strive to get it right the first time, every time. Team player who manages well under pressure.

The hourly range for this position is $34 - $37 per hour.

The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations. Ariat in good faith believes that this posted compensation range is accurate for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
