Product Costing Manager
About the Role
Ariat is looking for a Product Costing Manager to join the Supply Chain team. The person in this role will report to the Sr. Director, Supply Chain. This person will be knowledgeable of footwear construction, manufacturing, product costing, and global business management. They will also need to be able to work independently and collaborate proactively with cross functional teams.
You’ll Make a Difference By
- Proactive margin improvement - Engage in product development process, identify the linkages between material costs and consumption and how that drives overall FOBs for various styles. Create cost budget and a matrix to support product creation teams in selecting appropriately priced materials/constructions to achieve margin targets
- Improved material selection - Attend product design review, detailing meetings, and document opportunities for cost improvement, use those notes to create training curriculum, and train product creation teams on cost improvement opportunities
- Creating cost transparency - Lead efforts to improve costs transparency in the areas of labor, overhead, and profit (LOP). Liaise with sourcing offices to gather information on the cost drivers of LOP at each factory. Define approach and processes for working with suppliers to properly allocate LOP to individual products to create improved cost transparency as an input to merchandising’s pricing models.
- Product standard cost review - Provide product cost info and validate product standard cost, and analyze variance
- Data and Process Efficiency - Document margin management process and narratives, identify improvement opportunities, and drive solutions to automate process and data tools to enhance operations efficiency
- Others - Support to strategic Supply Chain initiatives which deliver better margin to Ariat profitability expectations
About You
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Costing, Engineering, Business Management or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience including Engineering, Development, Industry Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Costing preferred. Related disciplines also acceptable
- Knowledge of footwear construction, manufacturing, product costing, and global business management
- Work independently and collaborate proactively with cross functional teams
- Solving complex challenges and bringing new perspectives to existing processes and solutions
- High level of integrity and teamwork, result-oriented
- Strong verbal and writing communication skills
- High proficiency using MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel 5-10% of the time

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $105,000 per year.
The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations. Ariat in good faith believes that this posted compensation range is accurate for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
