Legal Writer Contractor, FindLaw.com

Job Description
We are looking for legal writers to make significant revisions to existing FindLaw.com articles. Our articles provide consumers with informational content that spans a wide range of legal practice areas.
This is a full-time contract position through mid-December 2023.

As a trusted source, millions of consumers and lawyers turn to FindLaw.com to learn about a legal topic, solve a legal problem, get practice tips, or find a lawyer. Job Requirements

  • Revise FindLaw.com content for legal accuracy and to align with SEO, UX, and internal best practices.
  • Research, write, and edit effective informational content designed to help users find answers to their most pressing legal questions.
  • Optimize FindLaw.com content using best practices in keyword usage, headline creation, content optimization, and basic SEO.
  • Use performance measures and leadership input to constantly refine your writing style and content performance.

Experience

  • 3+ years of legal research and writing experience required
  • 2+ years of professional writing experience preferred
  • Experience researching and writing precisely and succinctly under tight deadlines
  • Experience writing for a consumer audience.
  • Legal writing and web content writing experience a plus
  • Excellent research and writing skills, with ability to research, write, and edit compelling, accurate information for consumer audiences under a tight deadline
  • Comfort with editor review of content and constructive criticism
  • Basic understanding of HTML and SEO
  • Must be a self-starter

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • J.D. Preferred
