Legislative Policy Analyst

Venable LLP’s Legislative Group seeks a Legislative Policy Analyst to join the practice in the Washington, D.C. office.

The Washington, DC office of Venable is looking for a highly motivated and hard-working individual to join or Legislative practice as an analyst. This qualified individual will work with our legislative team on a wide range of issues including commerce, technology, telecommunications, energy, and health care. Responsibilities will include (i) monitoring, summarizing, and reporting on introduced legislation and Congressional and agency hearings; (ii) researching policy matters; (ii) preparing summaries, presentations, and reports involving policy projects for distribution internally, as well as, to clients; and (iv) attending congressional hearings, placing calls, scheduling appointments, meetings and assisting with logistics associated with client events such as Hills Days and briefings (in addition to other responsibilities, as needed). Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, and research skills (including social media) are required. A two-year commitment is strongly preferred. Candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree program prior to joining the firm. Each interested candidate should submit a cover letter and undergraduate transcripts with their application.
