Leidos is seeking an Associate Industrial Security Coordinator to administer the government background investigation process for program participants. In this role, you will primarily assist with sustainment and support the processes to ensure USAP participants identified by the customer have completed the requisite background investigation.As a part of the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) team, you will collaborate with the NSF customer, ASC stakeholders, and partner agencies to ensure background investigations are prioritized, initiated, tracked, reported, and completed per NSF direction. This position leverages existing program tools and resources when required, or may be required to use other resources to meet National Science Foundation direction.This crucial role advocates the overall success of the USAP objectives, and you will have the opportunity to leverage existing program tools and resources to meet NSF direction. Leidos supports the NSF’s Office of Polar Program’s Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics by aligning with their Mission and Vision Statements:• Vision: Expanding our scientific reach in Antarctica through increased operational and logistical effectiveness.• Mission: To provide the operational and logistical platform necessary for the U.S. to conduct world-class science in Antarctica and maintain its active and influential presence on the continent.Leidos ASC provides science and logistics support for approximately 150 science and technical events across three geographically remote research stations; McMurdo Station, Palmer Station, and South Pole Station and several deep field sites across Antarctica. Each station or field site supports world class research across multiple science disciplines. Begin your journey of a flourishing and meaningful career, share your resume with us today!The Challenge:• Responsible for day to day ASC Personnel Security administrative activities, which include but not limited to in internal CRM and Microsoft office, with special emphasis in excel.• Collaborate with the NSF, partner agencies and ASC stakeholders to ensure NSF background investigation needs are met.• Reviews all required paperwork and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to submission to the government for processing.• Collaborate with ASC hiring managers, sub-contract partners, HR personnel and travel personnel to ensure participants are being processed in a timely fashion, and deployments are being managed appropriately based on background investigation results.• Contacts applicants or Sub Company Points of Contact via telephone and/or email to obtain additional information and assist with Security form completion.• Maintenance of Personnel Security Databases to track candidate progress.• Provide day to day prioritization and participant support to ensure background investigations are being initiated, tracked and completed according to procedural timelines.• Regular and ad hoc reporting to ASC Leadership and NSF on background investigation backlog, status, and projections for USAP program participants.• Ensure evidence for background investigations is captured to support NSF-sponsored audits.• Support and stabilize the USAP background investigation process to reduce overall manual labor required, and introduce tools and reporting engines to support the process.What Sets You Apart:• Bachelor’s degree and four (4) + years of experience or eight (8) + years of prior relevant experience• Advanced Experience with Microsoft Office• Strong Documentation/writing skills• Self-starting and engaged• Demonstrated organization and customer service skills• Aptitude for data management and reporting tools• Mature and professional demeanor when working with stakeholders• Outcome focused mindset• Strong verbal communication skillsYou May Also Have:• Experience working in shared mailbox• Prior experience in Personnel Security• Experience with DISS, eAPP and USAccessAt Leidos, the opportunities are boundless.
