About the Position:

The AVP of Project Management will serve as a key member of our leadership team, overseeing and optimizing our project management function across the agency. You will directly guide the execution of complex, high-value client projects, manage resource allocation at a strategic level, and ensure the smooth integration of newly acquired teams. As the architect of our project management governance, you will champion best practices and align our operations with business-critical objectives. This role reports to the President. The salary range for this position is $125k-175k based on experience.

Based on experience, alternative titles for this position may include VP of Project Management.

Your Impact:

  • Project Governance: You’ll establish, evolve, and maintain comprehensive project management frameworks that ensure compliance with both internal policies and industry best practices, securing top-tier delivery performance.
  • Team Integration: You’ll lead the strategic integration of newly acquired service teams, ensuring seamless alignment of processes, tools, and culture, while optimizing for operational efficiency and speed-to-market.
  • People Management: You’ll inspire and lead a high-performing team of project managers, building a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous development across the department.
  • Resource Management: You’ll direct high-level resource planning and allocation to maximize team efficiency, resolve resource conflicts proactively, and ensure delivery on complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Process Improvements: You’ll serve as a change agent, continuously identifying opportunities for operational enhancement, driving strategic initiatives to refine project delivery, and positioning the agency for sustained growth.
  • Agile Methodology Support: You’ll lead the transition from a Scrumban framework to a fully implemented Kanban approach, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and higher efficiency across all project teams.
  • Risk Management: You’ll proactively identify and manage project risks, establishing robust mitigation strategies that ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Stakeholder Communication: You’ll foster and maintain critical communication pathways between project teams, senior leadership, and key stakeholders, delivering transparency and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.

  • 10+ years of experience in high-level project management, with a proven track record of leading complex, large-scale projects and teams, and demonstrated success in process optimization, project governance, and strategic resource management.
  • Expertise in leading complex post-acquisition integrations and ensuring seamless team cohesion during periods of rapid change and growth.
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrumban/Kanban) and a proven ability to lead Agile transformations at scale; Agile certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of influencing across functions and levels without direct authority.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute decisively.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to present and manage expectations at the executive level.
  • Remote work from anywhere in the US with an internet connection.
