LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established organization within the manufacturing industry located in Morris County, New Jersey. The Senior Staff Accountant would be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role is crucial in supporting the financial operations of the manufacturing process, ensuring accurate costing, budgeting, and financial analysis to optimize financial performance and support decision-making.Key Responsibilities:• Cost Accounting:• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.• Develop and maintain standard costs for products.• Perform variance analysis and provide insights on cost control and reduction opportunities.• General Ledger:• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.• Post journal entries and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.• Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial documents.• Budgeting and Forecasting:• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets.• Prepare financial forecasts and provide variance analysis.• Collaborate with various departments to gather and analyze financial data for budgeting purposes.• Compliance and Auditing:• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards.• Accounts Payable and Receivable:• Process and review vendor invoices and payments.• Monitor accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices.• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.• Inventory Management:• Oversee and reconcile inventory accounts.• Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.• Analyze inventory costs and ensure accurate reporting.Qualifications:• Education:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.• Experience:• 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.• Skills:• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.• Good communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Strong organizational and time management skills.
