Audit Manager

The Audit Manager is primarily responsible for assessing processes and executing operational audits to help Life.Church be more protected and effective in efforts to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. This role collaborates with teams to conduct internal audits of risk within their processes and helps them better understand and implement internal controls. The Audit Manager is responsible for collaborating with the Central Team Leader, Risk Collaboration to cast vision, provide direction, and lead ministry efforts within their area of influence to outcomes that further Life.Church’s mission and reach people for Christ.

At Life.Church, we exist to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. It’s been our mission since 1996 and has guided us every day. Leading people isn’t just an expectation; it’s a necessity.  It’s a cornerstone of our culture. That's why we’re always seeking leaders—leaders like you—to bring your skills to life. We are one church meeting in multiple locations, and we want to help you become the person God made you to be.

At Life.Church, we are passionate about leveraging technology to move the mission forward. As a Risk Collaboration team, we know this comes with risks, risks that we get to help safeguard against. Our Cyber Security and Data Privacy team exists to help protect our church through partnerships, resources, and by creating a culture of cyber-awareness so that, together, each of us will serve as a "human firewall" protecting our mission.

What You’ll Do
  • Use analytical skills to create audit procedures to identify root causes for issues effectively.
  • Collaborate with teams to define impactful improvement actions.
  • Execute audits and perform analysis to support overall conclusions and operational internal controls.
  • Utilizing a risk-based methodology, conducting interviews and walkthroughs, reviewing processes, making inquiries and observations, and analyzing results to evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Maintain audit documentation according to the Internal Audit’s standards.
  • Create written reports and visuals for the auditing team.
  • Communicate audit findings to the direct leader.
  • Participate in our open feedback culture, provide constructive feedback, and be open to feedback from peers, team members, and leadership.

Skills Needed to Succeed
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct internal audits.
  • Maintain the ability and posture to serve teams and not simply assess them.
  • Exhibit great interpersonal skills through both written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to uncover information, process it, and effectively communicate it through written and visual reports.
  • Capability to identify complex problems, evaluate them, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and problem-solve.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and work independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on auditing, preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience auditing.
