People Operations Lead / HR Systems Lead

LifeLabs Learning is seeking a highly creative and experienced People Operations Lead to join our team. As our People Operations & Systems Lead, you will be instrumental in retaining world-class Labmates, ensuring their safety and security, and creating conditions for them to do their best work by managing our people systems and processes.

What You’ll Do:

People Operations

  • Execute on our compensation and benefits strategy to support recruitment and retention aligned with business goals.

  • Conduct annual compensation reviews and analysis in partnership with the CPO.

  • Benchmark salaries for new positions to maintain competitive hiring practices.

  • Propose and manage perks and benefits, ensuring they are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with our values.

  • Execute our bi-weekly company-wide payroll process.

Success Metrics:

  • Meet 95% of communicated deadlines.

  • Ensure 95% of payroll cycles run without error.

  • Attain a 100% Open Enrollment completion rate.


People Systems

  • Identify and implement improvements in enterprise productivity through best-in-class systems design and optimizations.

  • Scope and identify solutions such as SaaS software and process changes.

  • Train and support others in the use of new solutions, ensuring effective change management.

  • Develop documentation for process audits and clarity.

  • Utilize data and insights for informed decision-making and stakeholder engagement.

Success Metrics:

  • Achieve a 100% on-time project completion rate.

  • Deliver finished products or measurable results as defined in initial project goals.

  • Deliver impact or solution as predefined in initial project goals.


Compliance

  • Manage and implement POPs policies to ensure safety, security, and clarity for all.

  • Maintain accurate and accessible employment records.

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws in collaboration with the Chief People Officer and Director of Legal & Compliance.

  • Select and roll out company-wide harassment training.

  • Assist with employee investigations and complaints.

Success Metrics:

  • Fulfill 100% of all compliance items on time.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Demonstrated success in strategizing and systematizing the People Operations/HR department, particularly in compensation, benefits, and payroll systems management.

  • Proficiency in various HR facets, including organizational development, recruiting, employee engagement and development, DEI initiatives, and performance support systems.

  • Adept at strategic thinking and planning, goal setting, prioritizing, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Clear and compelling written and verbal communication for policy articulation, employee education, and reporting to stakeholders.

  • Interest and skill in identifying and rolling out new software, automations, and system innovations.

  • Adaptivity and resilience skills, and a general default to curiosity.

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Experience administering 401k plans.

  • Background in mission-driven startups and/or high-growth enterprises.

  • Familiarity with various HR tech systems; TriNet (PEO), Ashby (ATS), and Korn Ferry a plus.

The deets:

  • Start date: ASAP

  • Location: Remote (can be based anywhere in the U.S.)

  • Employment Type: Full-time

  • Starting Salary: $85K -$95K starting base salary

    • Starting salary matches your skills and readiness for the role assessed during the interview process.

  • Compensation: salary + bonus (Success Share)

    • Our compensation system is transparent and consistently applied throughout the company. As you take on new responsibilities, you can expect a yearly compensation increase, so long as you are meeting the role expectations #AlwaysBeLearning! This translates into a predictable raise up to $120K base salary, after which your base salary will increase based on an annual 2% COLA increase.

    • Additionally, you will be eligible to participate in our quarterly Success Share program which is a 10% bonus on your eligible earnings when we hit our quarterly revenue target.

    • Year 1: 10% of 85K Year 2: 10% of 95K Year 3: 10% of 105K  Year 4: 10% of 115K Year 5: 10% of 120K Year 6: 10% of 120K + 2% COLA

  • Long-Term Incentive Plan: As part of your compensation package, you will be eligible to participate in the company's Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP). Your equity grant will be commensurate with the ‘Lead’ band of this role.
