About the Role
Lightship’s mission to modernize and electrify RVs demands building cutting edge electronics and controls. As a Software Engineer in Test, you will design and implement automated test infrastructure to validate our embedded software and hardware with a focus on platform features such as Over-the-air Update. To succeed, you will develop a strong understanding of how our systems work and how to break them to ensure a high bar of quality for our embedded software systems.

At Lightship, we're redefining the recreational vehicle experience by building all-electric trailers for the modern age. As a Sr. Software QA Engineer – Embedded Systems, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the top-notch quality of our cutting-edge electronics and control systems. You'll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing test plans for in-vehicle embedded controllers that cover various essential domains such as drivetrain and body controls. With your expertise, you'll create automated test infrastructures that validate our software and hardware, paying special attention to features like Over-the-Air Updates. This is not just about testing; it's about collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, understanding how our systems function, and pursuing excellence in quality across all embedded software systems. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in QA and embedded software development, ideally with at least 5 years of experience. You should be proficient in C/C++, Python, and familiar with crucial communication protocols like CAN and I2C.
