Summary

Fori Automation, a Lincoln Electric Company, has an outstanding opportunity for an Controls Manager in support of the Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) business. As an experienced Controls Engineer, this role will be responsible for m anaging AGV Systems and Automation engineering groups with regards to budget, schedule and manpower requirements in accordance with the project master schedules.

What you will do:

 

  • Forecast manpower requirements and work with the resource managers on new staffing requirements, sharing staff, and contracting resources.
  • Coordinate with the service department identifying resources for plant activities.
  • Provide guidelines for training and assistance to new employees.
  • Enforce and improve the ISO Controls Procedure, continuously monitor, and improve quality and efficiency.
  • Set goals and measure performance for direct reports.
  • Receive project definition and review the quoted scope of work with the program and account managers during the project kick-off.
  • Audit project kickoffs to ensure the budget and scope of work are clearly defined.
  • Ensure project engineering deliverables comply with controls ISO processes.
  • Monitor the critical path on all projects and update controls engineering status.
  • Monitor the controls project budgets and timelines using measurables to help improve the staff and process.
  • Maintain project design documentation and prepare customer deliverables, maintain project timelines and critical path milestones. 
  • Participate in Motor City meetings and assist the business unit in closing engineering or staffing issues.
  • Participate in the development of training materials for current and new staff members.

Education & Experience Required

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Excellent communications, leadership and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of AGV Systems
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in controls engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience
  • Background in electrical design
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision when required
  • Ability to work within a team environment when required
