The Role at a Glance
We are looking for a VP, Mergers and Acquisition for Lincoln Financial Group. This role provides strategic leadership and drives efforts for the organization’s to achieve growth through mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. They will provide leadership and oversee activities to determine feasibility of possible mergers and evaluate the potential impact on the corporation’s growth and profitability accurately and comprehensively. What you'll be doing
  • Leads a team to ensure the M&A functional area meets all objectives pertaining to quality, compliance, regulations, productivity, customer service, budget, and project management.
  • Leads the development of M&A operational plans and ensures alignment with Lincoln’s overall business plans and specific strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Provides critical M&A thought leadership and expertise to strategically drive improved financial and business results.
  • Evaluates and interprets highly complex & systemic economic trends and conditions which affect the financial services industry to determine short-term and long-term M&A policies and plans.
  • Leads the evaluation process of the organization's opportunities for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Oversees M&A project management processes including due diligence, financial planning, scoping, closing, and integration.
  • Advises, collaborates, and guides senior executive management on strategic M&A opportunities and interpreting how they relate to and support the enterprise’s strategic objectives.
  • Oversees thorough evaluation process of new business/acquisition opportunities through analysis of the target company’s technology platform, business strategy, human resources and other complex available data to identify synergies & potential risks.
  • Leads deal execution, negotiating business terms and works with legal counsel to finalize contracts.
  • Oversees the cross-functional execution of deals and transition from deals to integrated business operations.
  • Participates as needed on Lincoln committees (e.g., Asset Liability, Risk, Product, etc.), providing functional expertise.
What we’re looking for
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
  • 12+ Years experience in M&A, business development, finance or related function directly aligned to the specific duties for this role, incl 5+ years of managerial, strategy, and/or demonstrated leadership experience influencing sr management/critical stakeholders (Required)

Pay Range: $169,701 - $306,200

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
