Job Description

At LinkedIn, we trust each other to do our best work where it works best for us and our teams. This role is hybrid, meaning you can both work from home and commute to a LinkedIn office, depending on what’s best for you and when it is important for the team to be together.

This role can be based in San Francisco, Mountain View, or New York. This role is part of a Global team with team members in multiple countries, so you will be working with people both in-person and remotely.

We are looking for a Marketing Planner to join the Global Integrated Marketing Planning and Insights team during an exciting time for the LinkedIn brand and business. The Integrated Marketing Planning and Insights team is responsible for turning data and research into actionable insights and marketing strategies, with the goal of increasing the effectiveness of our marketing.

This position will play an important role in connecting the dots across Brand and Consumer marketing touchpoints to create a holistic understanding and narrative that illuminates how our marketing is impacting business performance, as well as identifying ways to optimize future performance.

You will create deep, productive relationships with the owners of measurement programmes, who will span a variety of teams, such as Paid Media, Brand Campaigns, Market Research, etc. Your focus will be on leveraging data, insight and analysis from multiple sources to create simple, influential narratives that inform marketing leadership and the broader marketing organization on how well our marketing investments are delivering business growth, and how we are performing against our objectives. You will also identify ways to improve the performance of our marketing in the future, and work with a variety of Go-To-Market teams to implement them.

The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of marketing measurement, and be accomplished at translating results, analysis and insights into actionable marketing plans and strategies. They will also be a natural storyteller, collaborator and relationship builder. They will be able to spot trends and patterns in data other people miss, and be able to independently translate this learning into how we optimize our marketing - ie.  the ‘so what’. This role could be especially well suited to someone with an advertising planning, media analytics or brand strategy background with strong data and analytical skills.

If you feel like you meet ‘some’ but not all of these criteria, we would still love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Turn multiple disconnected, varied and complex marketing performance and consumer insights datasets into a simple and powerful narrative on how effective our marketing is

  • Proactively identify ways we can optimize future marketing performance

  • Build strong relationships across a variety of teams, including measurement programme owners and Go-To-Market teams

  • Work across multiple measurement methodologies to create a holistic picture of LinkedIn’s B2C marketing performance

  • 5+ years’ experience in a marketing performance, effectiveness, planning or strategy role
  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience

  • Proven ability to transform complex datasets into simple narratives
  • Proven ability to translate data-driven insights into actionable recommendations regarding marketing execution
  • Confident navigating ambiguous projects and influencing without authority
  • Comfortable creating learning/measurement plans and asking questions to understand how programs can deliver business goals
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to develop deck presentations and communicate to various levels of seniority
