The Gist

The Logistics & Distribution Coordinator supports the distributors, carriers and internal & external teams such as sales, production and warehouse in the successful coordination, communication and timely execution of all orders for their respective territories. This logistics coordinator represents the Lagunitas vibe by presenting all work in a positive and professional manner. Manages project timelines with a sense of urgency, ensuring all commitments are met while communicating timely status updates to senior management.


What You’ll Do

  • Liaison between distributors and sales organization; support sales strategies, initiatives and team as it relates to the orders.
  • Full responsibility for order from receipt through delivery (referencing OM and APP+) to stay ahead of potential problems with availability, weight, and last-minute changes including production of pick ticket and freight processing.
  • Analyze orders proactively to identify potential shortages or overages; Must be knowledgeable and effective in use of VIP data and depletion reports.
  • Manage distributor orders: focus on depletions, on-hand inventories, rate of sales, to better manage the decision-making process and the flow / details / reasoning of orders, changes, order frequency, etc.
  • Depending on needs and ordering frequency, daily or weekly communication with distributors to review orders and maintain relationships.
  • Actively manage accounts by preparing detailed recommendations for customers. Preparation and advance planning for distributor conversations, including on-hand inventory, current orders, orders in transit, upcoming events, promos etc. is essential. Must be ready to make credible recommendations based on data and sales initiatives.
  • Support POS and events teams to achieve goals with effective, thorough communication.
  • Ensure that the ordering portal is accurate and up-to-date. Changes must be made in a timely manner and communicated immediately.
  • Communicate in a timely manner (including sales) the availability of “specialty” items, like one-hitters, seasonals, etc. from seasonal planning calendar and portal updates.
  • Works with freight carriers to tender trucks
  • Tracks trucks to ensure timely delivery
  • Creates freight PR’S in SAP

What We’re Lookin’ For

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or equivalent preferred.
  • Positive attitude and excellent verbal communication skills; Positive, upbeat and friendly demeanor.
  • Diligent attention to detail and strong analytic skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to report and communicate effectively in order to enhance internal & external understanding of performance and strategy; Proactively seeks solutions.
  • Capability to multi-task and be self-motivated.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs.
  • Expertise at running reports and merging depletion/sales data from multiple sources/databases (i.e. iDIG & VIP, East or West Events Projections & ACE reports, Production Plans, etc.).
  • Passionate about Lagunitas and the craft beer business.

Key Relationships


  • Reports to Senior Logistics and Transportation Manager; Works closely with Sales Directors and Market Managers.
  • Interfaces with distributors at the Purchasing Manager level.
  • Direct communications with all respective territory carrier dispatch personnel.

Physical Stuff


  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
