This is a fantastic role to join our global logistics team here in Gaffney where you will need a keen global mindset as you will be dealing with shipments to and from all areas of the world. Job Summary
Working closely with the Regional Freight Manager, and deputizing when necessary, is fully involved in the planning and execution of logistics related activities for the transportation function within the region. Provides high quality, cost effective, and efficient service to meet current and future demands. Optimizes facilities utilization, process execution and compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulations. Supports all financial and operational activities within the region.

The Ideal Person Will Have
  • Experience with parcel carriers/integrators on a national and international level
  • Experience with Air and Sea freight
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to make quick decision to provide solutions
  • A can do attitude with a 'roll up sleeves and get involved' mentality

What You Will Be Doing
  • Works closely with the Regional Freight Manager to provide a Best In Class service to the business for outbound and inbound shipments.
  • Manages outbound shipments, achieving an optimal balance between cost and customer service.
  • Provides reports to support business financial decisions and demonstrates understanding of the balance between service and cost.
  • Involvement in the freight payment process and continually works to reduce transportation costs.
  • Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics.
  • Updates and maintains electronic and hard copy records as required.
  • Monitors carrier compliance and optimizes carrier performance to contract terms.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Extensive knowledge and application of principles, theories and concepts. Complete knowledge of all job functions and the broad industry best practices, techniques and standards.
  • Develops solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations and/or data requires in-depth evaluation of variables. Determine best approach to achieve results and provide suggestions to improve policies and procedures.
  • Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Work may be reviewed at a high-level.
  • May represent the organization as a primary contact on assignments and/or projects. Interacts with senior professionals and management and frequently coordinates work between departments or organizations.
  • Actions may impact the organization. Failure to accomplish work will result in the inability to reach crucial organizational goals. Erroneous decisions may have a prolonged effect resulting in the expenditure of substantial resources.
