Logistics Technician

SUMMARY:
Provides logistics support to assigned departments as well as administrative staff. Support functions include: routine business workflow; special projects, written and verbal correspondence; data retrieval, collection, compilation and reporting; and database maintenance. This position may perform duties of a sensitive and confidential nature.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • 40% - Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Records receipt of incoming materials and equipment.
  • 40% - Manages and maintains Logistics storage area and inventory. Daily Inventory Management including Production requirements and Schedule requirements. Manages waste and recycling removal programs including scheduling and documentation
  • 20% - Processes and fills orders for material or merchandise received by mail, telephone, or personally from customer. Informs customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer. Prepares and maintains appropriate records; records or files copy or orders received. Edits orders received for price and nomenclature.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and one (1) year related administrative experience and/or training. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
