We believe in "the sweat life" - sweat, relationships and personal development - and we live it every day.The Privacy Counsel role is a key position within lululemon's Global Privacy Program and requires close collaboration with cross-functional partners and keeping current with best practices, multi-jurisdictional legislative changes, and emerging case law regarding privacy.In your capacity as Privacy Counsel, you will be charged with ensuring that our company complies with relevant laws and policies. Responsibilities will include staying abreast of developments, interpreting laws in the context of the company's activities, and ensuring that key personnel are in possession of necessary information, and offering cross functional support.You will be support developing, implementing, and overseeing aspects of lululemon's Global Privacy Program, including third party risk management and enterprise-wide regulatory projects. This role will provide privacy-related legal guidance regarding products/services, new initiatives, complaints, and issue resolution. This role will also partner with our Digital, Technology, Employment, and Compliance teams to identify and evaluate legal risks, and find creative ways to mitigate them while achieving business goals and pursuing opportunities to scale.day in the life:• Partner with company stakeholders to gather information and approvals necessary for privacy compliance matters.• Work with all members of the legal team across global office locations, including attorney and non-attorney personnel.• Monitor for regulatory change, perform analysis of changes, and oversee business implementation of changes in a timely manner.• Conduct research and contribute to emerging privacy compliance projects related to new product launches.• Collaborate with the global legal team to develop and implement best practices and policies.• Provide direction to teams during incidents and engagement of outside counsel.• The Privacy Counsel works closely with the rest of the Privacy team on compliance execution, matter and regulatory tracking, program maturity and reporting to leadership.requirements:• Undergraduate degree or the equivalent• J.D. from an accredited institution• Admission into the bar of practice, or the ability to register as in-house counsel• 4 to 7 years of compliance experience. Global and/or retail experience a bonus.• Proven ability to interpret and provide guidance on laws, rules, and regulations.• Strong track record of effectively assessing and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.• Strong project management and interpersonal skills.• You have the ability to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.• Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team-oriented, and organized.• Comfortable balancing multiple, competing priorities and changes in scope/direction.• Self-motivated individual with the ability to work fast & smart independently.• Exceptional communication, organizational & time management skills.specific to privacy practice:Understanding of key global privacy and marketing compliance laws including CCPA, PIPEDA, GDPR, EU-US Privacy Shield, data breach regulations, CAN-SPAM, COPPA, CASL and other applicable FTC rules. Knowledge of common privacy laws, practices, and regulatory frameworks (PCI, GDPR, SOX, etc.), as well as a general understanding of various retail related technologies, information security and risk management. Thetypical hiring range for this position is from$140,800-$184,800 USD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
