Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI), is a leading not-for-profit organization providing healing, justice and wholeness to people and communities. LSSI is hiring a full-time File Clerk Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Provides support and files case documents for CCS programs for Augustana office and workers.

Essential Functions: 
  • File all documents in AP5 format in files accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all files are kept current and properly stored to meet DCFS and COA standards.
  • Compile list by worker of files to be audited giving copy to worker and supervisor.
  • Prepare files for audits and reviews.
  • Provide assistance in preparing documents and files for court and ACR reviews.
  • Prepare closed files for transport to storage (document contents, box files, and arrange for pick for long term storage). Track files that have been sent to storage for audits.
  • Close Foster Care, Intact, Counseling and Adoption case files.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
 Position Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • One (1) to three (3) years’ experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organization, general office and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Capacity to understand and empathize with the cultural, psychological, and practical needs of the clients that the agency serves.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cohesively with other and willingness to accept additional responsibility.
