LSSI is hiring a full-time Recovery Support Specialist, Monday through Friday, hours may vary. Responsible for providing recovery support to clients in the mental health and substance use treatment programs. Also responsible for providing intensive case management services to individuals with substance use and mental health needs including but not limited to case management, documentation, and individual meetings with clients.

Essential Functions:
- Assist clients in becoming proactive and involved in their own recovery.
- Coordinate and provide a continuum of treatment services.
- Assist and support clients in developing and maintain recovery-oriented, wellness-focused lifestyles.
- Promote recovery and mental health treatment.
- Serve as an advocate for clients in drug court, re-entry, substance use and mental health treatment.
- Serve as a mentor to clients.
- Communicate with Supervisor, Treatment Team, and collateral agencies to address clients’ needs.
- Partner with clients to access the services and supports that will help individuals attain personal recovery goals, stabilize and maintain mental wellness.
- Ensure documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Utilize EHR (Electronic Health Record) as an essential tool to complete clinical documentation and other requirements.
- Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in the human service or social serviced required.
- History of receiving mental health and/or substance use treatment as a consumer preferred.
- Background check clearance required.
- Certified Recovery Support Specialist credential must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
- Annual TB test required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
- Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
- Access to reliable transportation required.
- Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage preferred.
