Position Overview – Accounting Manager
As we continue to grow and scale, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious individual to build and lead our accounting function from the ground up as the 2nd hire in the Finance department. The Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing financial processes, implementing systems, and ensuring compliance while taking full ownership of all aspects of accounting within the organization.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll processing
Develop and implement scalable processes to support the company's growth trajectory, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting
Manage month-end close processes, including the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as operations, engineering, and legal to support strategic initiatives and drive business outcomes
Facilitate the implementation and optimization of accounting software and ERP systems to streamline workflows and enhance productivity
Interact with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all reporting requirements
Assist costing and pricing efforts for new business proposals and implementation of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)-covered contracts
Demonstrate the ability to identify issues and develop solutions
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance,
5+ years of operational accounting experience
CPA a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Government contract accounting, FAR accounting standards and DCAA compliance a plus
Previous Aerospace and Defense, manufacturing, or early-stage experience a plus
Systems implementation experience a plus

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most offers and are considered part of Mach’s total compensation package.
