Machine Operator - job 1 of 2

Conveniently located in Clackamas OR off I-205 with a quick drive from Sandy, Estacada, Clackamas, and Milwaukie. Your job would be to set up and operate die casting machine cells utilizing master setup documentation, to cast and trim parts such as truck trim, brake parts, pump components and instrumentation housings from aluminum.

If you want to work in manufacturing and be part of a well established company, this is a place you can build your career. No prior die cast experience is required. A willingness to learn is.


Starting pay is $21.94/hour for first 90 days. Then, $22.51/hour. 40 hour work week with health benefits, 401k match, company paid STD and LTD, gym reimbursement.

Openings are on swing shift and graveyard.

Swing shift is Monday to Friday 3PM-11:30PM. Plus a $1.25/hour premium.

Graveyard shift is Monday to Friday 11PM-7:30AM. Plus a $2.00/hour premium.


Here are all the things you will learn how to do:

Using crane, lift specified die sections into machine.

Bolt die section in position and adjusts stroke of ram.

Perform safety checks on all equipment to insure any hazards are corrected.

Connects water hose to cooling system of die. Preheats die sections with electric heater.

Turn valves and sets dial to regulate flow of water circulating through die and to control speed of machine, based on size and structure of part being cast and type and temperature of metal being used.

To set and adjust air and spray devices to blow metal fragments from die surfaces and lubricant into die cavity and onto plunger.

To set and adjust automatic equipment to ladle molten metal into chamber of machine.

To assure metal level and temperature in holding furnace is correct throughout shift.

To be fully conversant with process parameters, and their measurement, for maintaining consistent process and necessary machine adjustments for compliance.
