Machining & Mechanical Technician

ROLE: Perform tasks to include Machining room operations, assist with maintenance of shop equipment, project management and some assembly work.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Machine parts for equipment and machinery using Lathe, Mill, drill presses
• Assist with building maintenance repairs as necessary
• Ensure machining room operations run efficiently including ensuring that drill bits are sharp and ready to be used
• Perform the safe operation of all equipment in the Machine room
• Maintain all tools and machines
• Order parts
• Install equipment/machinery at customer locations
• Assembly and rebuild of equipment projects as required.
• Operate forklift safely
• Perform some light welding
• Ability to assemble and disassemble machinery
• Work with computer to maintain inventory of tooling required, place and track orders

• Knowledge and use of a large assortment of tools and equipment for building of and assembly of machinery and equipment

• Willing to work in a shop environment
• A sense of urgency and self-motivation
• Ability to participate in a group planning
• A basic understanding of all safety procedures and equipment in a shop environment
• Knowledge of safe maintenance/assembly procedures
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, walk and perform repetitive movements
• Able to lift 30-40lbs, and not to exceed 50 lbs.
