Under the direct supervision of the Work Leader and the Supervisor, responsibilities include, but are not specifically limited to the following: sorts all inbound USPS, inter-campus mail and packages as required; prepares mail packages for campus-wide distribution; maintains a safe and secure working environment; loading and unloading mail from USPS, UPS, FedEx and Amazon weighing 50 lbs. without assistance; utilizes software to track packages and mail; prepares and meters all outbound mail packages; completes work order and other paperwork and adheres to procedures and regulations; performs any data entry functions necessary to track or charge back services; prepares related work as required by Work Leader or Supervisor, i.e., prepares bulk mailings, prepares inter-campus mailings, meter mail, scan packages and mail out to students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides customer satisfaction to staff and students.
Maintains all supplies and equipment in working order. Maintain order and cleanliness of work areas.
Maintains all records and prepare manifests for tracking of all incoming accountable packages and mail.
Maintain all records for tracking usage of postage. Maintain records pertaining to postage on meters. Maintain meter bases and report all malfunctions to Mail Clerk III and /or management.
Completes other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Relevant experience involving mail service and delivery.
Good physical condition with the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. without assistance.
Knowledge of domestic and international rates, post office procedures and procedures for certified and registered mail is preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours; ability to work well with others, as well as independently; strong integrity and dependability and a willingness to follow instructions and handle related work as required.
