Job purpose / summary / objective
Responsible for day-to-day maintenance and preventative maintenance. Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and orderly manner. Enforces protocols and documentation as related to OSHA and food safety.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Keep a running list of all maintenance issues turned in by Team Leads or other facility department managers
- Track on a weekly basis PM performed
- Prioritize all maintenance orders with the production manager in order to target the right issues at the right time
- Facilitate safety and the safety of all employees within the supervisory group
- Ensure proper inventory levels of tools and parts
- Track safety related repairs to provide compliance with OSHA and other state and Federal Agencies
- Ensure all greenhouses are maintained to ensure quality growing conditions
- Delegate responsibility effectively to team members to maintain all work areas in clean and in good working conditions to ensure compliance with all OSHA, state, and Federal Regulations
- Train, guide, direct and motivate team members in roles and responsibilities by providing direction, setting, and monitoring performance expectations.
- Schedules maintenance with outside contractors
- Must be able to effectively communicate with employees to prescribe training needed related to troubleshooting equipment.
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of College or trade school or equivalent work experience
- 2-4 years of experience in a greenhouse production environment or related work experience desired
- Food or agriculture industry experience preferred
- Training in Food Safety and Sanitation
- Ability to create documents such as training manuals, preventative maintenance program
- Ability to make calculations necessary to solve complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing problems

Working conditions / Environment / Travel / Schedule required
Greenhouse/Outside/Coolers/Office. Maintenance will have exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat and humidity in the summer to cold in the winter. Often working near moving mechanical parts. The noise level of machines and cooling units can be loud.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to sometimes use hands to finger, handle or feel. Frequently standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. The lifting requirements to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The employee should have clear correctable vision at close and distance range, as well as peripheral vision to notice safety hazards.
