Procurement Coordinator

BrightFarms is at the forefront of transforming the supply chain for leafy greens in the United States. The Company currently operates 16 acres of production through 6 farms in the northeast and Midwest and is building 5 new regional hubs that will increase the Company’s production by 60 acres over the next 2 years. Our supply chain is driven by fanatical customer service. We are looking for an individual who is eager and self-motivated and wants to learn all about Sourcing and Procurement in a fast-growing CPG company. This role will support Sourcing activities in the Indirect and Purchasing spaces. This individual will focus on setting up contracts, placing purchase obligations, and working with the Procurement Director in creating an Indirect Procurement department and P2P process.

The Procurement Coordinator role is responsible for supporting the creation of the Indirect Procurement Category, focusing on centralizing and administrating contracts and all Indirect spend including but not limited to Facilities, PPE, MRO, IT, and various supplies. This role will also be connected to Bright Farms’ parent company and legal team for contract creation and economies of scale. This individual will also support the Purchasing department by placing orders on time and improving current processes, this is to ensure business continuity. This is a hybrid role reporting to our Director of Procurement and is based in your home office with up to 1-2 days per week in our beautiful, dog friendly Irvington, NY office just steps away from the Metro North Hudson line and easily commutable from the tri state region.

Specifically, you will:

  • Responsible for supporting the Farms and Headquarters by centralizing current Indirect vendors.
  • Support Purchasing department by placing POs in a timely manner and work closely with Purchasing Specialist.
  • Build 3rd Party knowledge pertaining to industry items and continue to develop current relationships.
  • Collaborate with other companies under the portfolio of Bright Farms Parent company and optimize sourcing practices.
  • Develop new processes and business practices as it pertains to Sourcing and PO placement.
  • Coordinate and execute maintenance contracts with the grow facilities.
  • Work with Greenhouse & Supply Chain teams to continuously improve vendor performance through management KPIs.
  • Develop supply resilience plan through VMI, alternate approved suppliers, etc.
  • The scope of this role may change as needed.

The ideal candidate has the following skills, experiences, and traits:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 1+ years of relevant Procurement experience in FMCG / CPG manufacturing.
  • Experience in project management, vendor relations, managing expectations of internal stakeholders.
  • Experience working with PPE, MRO, and Maintenance Contracts is a plus.
  • Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from multiple sources.
  • Ability to prepare and present information and recommendations from documentation (spreadsheets, charts, graphs)
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision as a self-starter.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Great organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
