Overview:
The Manager, Branded Content Creative will report to the Associate Director, Branded Content Creative and be tasked with managing a growing team while also creating compelling, engaging, and entertaining branded content for our different verticals and franchises (Daily newsletter, Emerging Tech, Retail, Marketing, Business Casual, Sidekick, HR Brew, Money Scoop, and more to come!). Your focus will be on our large-scale branded content projects in a variety of formats (social, audio, interactive digital, video, etc).
What you’ll do:
- Managing a small but growing team of associates and senior associates, working together to solve client briefs
- Translating partner briefs/assets into branded content in a variety of multimedia formats
- Brainstorming original ideas in pre-sale and executing those in post-sale
- Working with our internal design team and external freelancers to brainstorm and develop imagery, UX, and UI when necessary
- Understanding the larger marketing goals of our brand partners, helping create strategic frameworks, content roadmaps, and repeatable partnerships
- Presenting ideas and work both internally and externally to our brand partners in written and verbal form
- Working across teams to create proactive ideas informed by sales feedback, editorial priorities, marketplace needs, and cultural trends
- When necessary, contribute writing to other facets of Morning Brew's business (media kits, website and user experience copy, social media content, and more)
What makes you qualified:
- 5 years of professional creative writing, copywriting, and content/marketing experience at a publisher, brand, or advertising agency (bonus points if you have a killer portfolio that showcases your work)
- Previous management experience is a definite plus. We are looking for someone to help mentor, manage, and teach other team members
- We’re looking for a wordsmith in the truest sense of the word: you should have an expert command of the English language and use of voice.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and project manage your own work and time while collaborating across teams
- Client readiness and communication skills
- Deep intellectual curiosity and strong work ethic
- A personal philosophy of, “Yes, we’ll figure it out.”
- Desire to seek out diverse and unique POVs that differ from your own
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience working with multiple client categories
- B2B and/or Financial Services writing experience
- Experience with a/b testing
